THE QUALITY OF OUR T-SHIRTS

The first step in printing T-shirts, is choosing the colour and quality of the T-shirts you want to use.

It is a common mistake to assume that the thickness or weight of a T-shirt dictates its quality. The weight of T-shirt material is measured according to the grams per m2 of the material. This is usually between 135 grams and 200 grams. As an example, a 145-gram T-shirt is not necessarily of a better quality than a 170-gram T-shirt. A T-shirt that is categorised as a 145-gram, pre-shrunk, 100% cotton with interlock weaving will appear neater and hold its shape for longer than a 180g carded cotton T-shirt.

Carded cotton is usually made from a lower grade material and is mass produced. The colouring process in the production of these T-shirts is of a lower quality and has the tendency to fade after prolonged wash-and-wear. Even so, these lower grade shirts remain popular because of the competitive market and client budget constraints.

Coming and carding are two ways of preparing the raw fibres for spinning yarn. In order to make yarn, raw fibre must go through an alignment process. Here are some of the differences between carded and combed yarn:

  • Carding the fibres creates a somewhat woollier yarn because the alignment process is not as meticulous.
  • Combing creates an evener yarn because this process aligns the fibres better. The combing process is more expensive because it allows for more wastage during the process.

As a rule, we only supply 100% cotton T-shirts unless you request otherwise.

You are most welcome to supply your own T-shirts for printing.

*Please note that dark coloured T-shirts are usually more expensive to print on than lighter or white T-shirts.

What sets us apart from the competition, is that our products are unique and that we do in-house branding, which significantly shortens the lead time for branded products. The average lead time for normal unbranded online gifts are about 2-3 working days, and should you require personalization, add another 2-3 working days. This lead time includes delivery to main centers nationwide.We have a range of over 2500 gifts to choose from. The branding of these gifts, should you choose to brand them, is not included in the price as advertised on the site. The price of branding will depend on the method of branding we use, which ranges from pad printing, UV printing (direct to product digital printing), dye sublimation, screen printing & engraving, as well as the quantities ordered. Each of these methods has different pricing.  Other than this wide variety of unique online gifts we have to offer, we also offer the service of branding the items that you supply such as belts, wallets & hand-made knives. BOOKLET PRINTING

Booklet prices are calculated on a sliding scale which means the more you print the less expensive the price per unit will be. On lower quantities we use our more economical digital printing process. For larger amounts of units, we use Litho printing. What characterises the lithographic printing process is that the setup charges that involves the screen preparation and the manufacturing of a positive is relatively expensive, but the printing costs are lower than any other process. Keep in mind that, as a rule, we do not quote on the design and layout of your booklets. The quotation will depend on how many pictures, additional content and in which format your information it is provided to us. To reduce costs, you can provide all photos in high-resolution .jpeg images to us with your text and other graphics in an editable format. As in the case with many of our products, we have a minimum order limit of R 2000.00 (Excl. VAT) on our Booklet Printing services. If you require smaller quantities for your booklets, you are welcome to contact us, and we will happily refer you to appropriate service providers.
